Tot school, vacation, and coupons!

So it has been a long time. I really need to get better at updating this. Things have been hectic around here. Last month we started homeschooling our oldest. Were using the ABC Jesus Loves Me curriculum, and I love it! Jax has had so much learning Genesis so far. I even set up a little learning nook.

We also made it up to Maine! It was only for a few days but it was so much fun. We ate our weight in lobster and Ty finally got to meet most of my family up there. I even took him to a few houses that are for sale. It was awesome to get to show him why I miss it so much.

And lastly I have been couponing like crazy again trying to get my stockpile back up. I have been posting the pics on Instagram!

Christmas goodies!

Christmas was good for us. I got a new vacuum sealer and KitchenAid. Both have definitely gotten there money's worth of use so far. I hit up a bunch of good meat sales this week and stocked up. Then I pulled out my sealer and went to work. My next project is to get the deep freeze reorganized. It is packed full, I tried talking to the husband about buying a new one, and even found one for $50. He kept saying we don't have room for another one. Boo.

We have started monthly menus instead of weekly. We kept finding ourselves never agreeing, not getting anything out until 4pm, or just not updating the menu. We were spending so much on food for dinners. So now at the beginning of the month I take an hour and plan out the entire month. After that I write a list of everything we need for those meals, cross off what we already have in the stockpile, and then check sale ads for the rest. I have seen a huge reduction in our grocery budget. I want to keep seeing that number come down. Its a game for me!

Another big thing for me is that I have completely cut out paper towels from our budget. I made myself 24 unpaper towels. One side flannel, the other terry. I just got sick of spending money on things that you throw away. Now the only "disposable" item we buy is toilet paper!

Free Money, ummmm yes please!

I have recently found a new way to earn a little extra money while at home. Its so easy! With Jingit you can earn up to $10 a week by simply watching ads and answering a few question. They also have an app and have partnered with Walmart. By checking in there you can earn more! Its so easy, i've already earned $13, and have my Visa debit card coming. I plan on using this money, plus what I make off my swagbucks, to pay for stocking stuffers this christmas. I told you it was easy! Freebies 4 Mom posts daily links to all the videos you can watch and earn so you never miss a chance. Don't forget to put that I refered you!

Sweating myself thin!

I can be cheap. I am always looking for alternatives to things. So when I came across this pin on Pinterest I was intrigued. I have wanted to try the It Works! body wraps but couldn't bring myself to spend $100 on them. So off the store I went to gather my supplies. The lotion was only $7.48 at walmart, and CVS had the Vitamin E oil on sales B1G1. Next came my measurements. My waist is 32in and my hips 37in. I then mix the lotion and oil and lathered myself up. My husband then had fun wrapping me in saran wrap. Now comes the fun part of sitting on the couch under a blanket for an hour. The saran wrap keeps riding up though. I might have to problem solve on that though. I hope it works! I would love to see some of this extra skin from the twins disappear. I will do this a few times a week and post my results!!

The end is near?

"Yay! Only a few weeks longer till your free of nursing" I've been getting this comment a lot lately. Why? Because my twins will soon be 1. Appearently at 1 I am to cut them off, throw in the towel and tell them "No more num nums!". Why do people feel this way? The WHO recommends breastfeeding until 2 or longer. I am a huge believer and letting the child decide when they are ready. For my oldest that was at 13mos. I was devastated and cried my eyes out, but in the end he decided he was ready to be done. The twins are still nursing 6-7 times a day. I do not see weaning any time soon, and I am okay with that!

This makes it worth it!

I am not ashamed to admit that I am a coupon addict or couponista as I like to refer to myself as. I weighed my coupon binder the other day and it weigh's 8lbs. Im very proud of that. It has become my 4th child. I just finished The Krazy Coupon Lady's Pick Another Checkout Lane. It was great. I highly recommend it for anyone who coupons. I hit up some great sales at the beginning of the month and was able to stock up on ground beef for $1.88/lb, and hamburger helper for $.66.

I also had my first money maker!!! I love that Walmart does that. Guess how much this stuff cost? $4.65! Between rollbacks, coupons and moneymakers I saved over 50%. I'm working towards cutting our grocery budget back since I am no longer working so every little bit helps. What are some of your money saving tips?

Love is not rude

Well day 6 is complete. So far things are going great. Today I needed to ask him what 3 things are that I do that irritate him. I was not to defend myself. Well go figure the first was biting my nails. Which I am trying to stop. I've kept them painted for over a week now. Go me! Two was that no matter how hard he tries I still get on his case. Three was shutting down when we start fighting, which he said he was partly to blame for since he tends to yell. I am learning a lot about myself. I am also trying very hard to correct these issues that I have.

I signed up for a Netflix free trial the other day and have started watching Breaking Bad and Weeds. Yes I know i'm a tad behind but I can't help it. Its very addicting.
